Platoon Formation
Platoon formation can very based on the situations and mission.
A platoon may have the following structure:
1. One up formation
2. Two up formation
3. Three up formation
1. One up formation : In this formation, one section of the platoon moves forward and two sections moves backward. This formation is best for advancing.
2. Two up formation : In this formation, two sections moves forward and one section move backward. This formation is best for attacking.
3. Three up formation : In this formation, all three sections move together this formation is best for making a big attack. Its firing capacity is high.
One section = 10 Jawan
One platoon = 3 section ( 30 Jawan)
One coy = 4 platoon ( 120 Jawan)
Army structure :
1. Soldier : The invidual military person.
2. Fireteam : A small group of soldier , led by a non commisoned officer.
3. Section : this is the smallest unit of army with 10 soldiers.
4. Platoon : a platoon may consist of approximately 32 soldiers and led by captain or luetinent. Platoon may have several sections.
5. Company : a company may consist of approximately 120 soldier and led by major or captain. Company may have several platoon.
6. Battalian : a Battalian may have more than 900 combat soldiers and led by cornal. Battalian may have several company.
7. Brigade : a Briged may have more than 3000 cambat soldiers and led by brigedier. Briged may have several Battalian.
8. Division : each division works under the leadership of a major general rank officers (GOC) . It consist of approximately 15000 cambat soldiers and 8000 support elements. Each division may have several Briged.
9. Army : The largest organisational level , consisting of multiple corps and commanded by a general.
